Robyn Interpreter is a founding partner of Montgomery & Interpreter, PLC. Her practice areas are focused in Tribal and Federal Indian law, water law, business, real estate, and estate planning.

Ms. Interpreter believes it is imperative to provide her clients with the most up to date information and strategic advice they need to make informed decisions about matters that are important to them, whether in the courtroom, at the negotiation table or before a regulatory agency. She has an excellent reputation for working closely with her clients in Indian country and throughout the business community to develop and implement successful business strategies and development objectives designed to meet her clients’ goals in a cost effective and timely manner.

Professional Experience

  • Counsel of record for two federally recognized Indian Tribes in Arizona’s General Stream Adjudication, In re the General Adjudication of All Rights to Use Water in the Gila River System and Source (W1-4).
  • Provide general counsel and special counsel services to Tribal governments, wholly owned Tribal corporations, and small and medium-sized businesses.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts and complex intergovernmental agreements between Tribes, states, counties and municipalities.
  • Provide strategic advice to tribal clients, businesses, and private parties on the development of economic and renewable energy projects in Indian country and on public lands.
  • Assist Tribal clients in securing federal, state, and grant funding for projects.
  • Provide legal, policy and consulting services related to Federal land exchanges, trust land acquisitions, and real estate transactions.
  • Draft codes, ordinances and procedures for Tribal government and advise clients on federal, state and Tribal regulatory compliance.
  • Represent clients and Tribal governments before the Department of Interior, Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA) and the Interior Board of Indian Appeals (IBIA).
  • Represent Indian allottees in leasing, sales and estate planning pertaining to Indian allotments.
  • Estate planning in wills, living wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
  • Established the first lease of Central Arizona Project (CAP) water between two tribes in the State of Arizona.
